Hitron CGN3 User's Guide 3.1.10 Modulation Transmissions over the cable network are based on a strong, high frequency periodic waveform known as the "carrier wave.". This carrier wave is so called because it "carries" the data signal. The data signal itself is defined by variations in the carrier wave.
With the modem in Bridge mode, that disables the vast majority of the modems functions, so, items such as the SIP/ALG setting in the modem are no longer functional. To log into the modem thru the router, use 192.168.100.1 as a web browser address. That will take you to the login page.

After manually changing the IP address of the Gateway (eg. 192.168.x.x), wirelessly connected devices get limited/no connectivity and will not be able to go online. Any devices wired directly to the Gateway will work properly. Changing LAN IP on the Hitron CGN3 does not automatically update on wirelessly connected computers.
So, 1. If Rogers eventually purges all of the Docsis 3.0 devices from its network, and; 2. if Rogers can clean up its cable plant so that the Docsis 3.1 devices operate as expected, then Rogers can re-assign the QAM channel space to OFDM and OFDMA channels, benefiting all cable customers.
1. Run a trace to anywhere, for example to google: tracert -4 2. With the modem in Gateway mode, or the modem in Bridge mode with a router behind it, the first IP address in the trace is the modem, or router, depending on what the modem operating mode is. The second IP address is the CMTS.
I have a Hitron CGN3 Modem and currently use the ethernet and wireless for internet. I use wireless 5 and 2.4 for my devices. What I need is to get an additional router and connect it to my CGN3 somehow in order to have 2 IP addresses (the 1 I currently have for the current devices, and 1 for another laptop that would be used occasionally).

Yesterday it was fine but today it changed. I believe if you change some WiFi settings it will grey out QOS. You can try to reset the modem to factory defaults and see if QOS comes back, then change WiFi settings one by one until it's no longer available. However in general for WiFi you should use: 2.4Ghz:
Interestingly, my public telephone service provider (FreePhoneLine) has figured out a workaround to the Hitron issue using a custom server and port 6060. The other service I am trying to connect with (HamShack Hotline) is not flexible - this is why I will need the bridge configuration. 1. Share.

My recommendation to anyone considering switching to the ignite service is to ensure that their cable performance is acceptable with their current modem. That's not a guarantee as the new XB6 and XB7 modems use OFDM and OFDMA channels instead of the QAM channels that the older CGN3 modems use. The Hitron 4582 modem also …
