Those engines have a timing belt with a 2000 hour service interval. If it breaks it can crash the engine. Fingers77.

Keep the oil cooler clean. Keep the jug fins clean. They're not so much "air cooled" as "oil cooled." You must keep the oil cooling fins clean. If you have an oil leak on an air cooled Deutz engine, fix it, then use some detergent to really get all the oil film off the engine. Get those cooling fins really clean again.
