IMO, it takes a couple of shots due to clearing the old remnants for an adjustment become fully effective. The Macap M4D is a nice timed, doserless grinder. The Mini E maybe a better grinder, but it's much less user friendly. The M4D has gotten a bit of a bad rap on H-B, but I know a couple of espressionists who love them.
